The Junior Auxiliary of Tipton County is ready to kick off the holiday season in style with the 10th Annual Fall Shopping Frenzy on November 2 and 3 at Brighton High School.
The Fall Shopping Frenzy has become a Tipton holiday tradition that pairs local artisans and vendors with the Junior Auxiliary of Tipton County, offering an opportunity for shoppers to get a head start on their holiday shopping, while also serving as the primary fundraiser for the Junior Auxiliary of Tipton County’s service projects.
Junior Auxiliary members are encouraged to render charitable services which are beneficial to the public, with emphasis on children; and to cooperate with other organizations performing similar services. On average, the chapter performs over 2,000 community service hours each year.
The Junior Auxiliary of Tipton County was founded in 1976, and is a part of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries (NAJA), a non-profit organization with more than 15,000 active, associate, and life members in 100 Chapters in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas.
Each year the Junior Auxiliary of Tipton County develops projects based upon the Child Welfare Project and the National Focus, and evaluates our community’s needs to focus our year’s work.
Some of this year’s JATC projects include:
- Snack Packs for elementary-aged children
- Emergency Assistance for families
- Thanksgiving food baskets
- Christmas Wish List for children
- Saturday Reading Program
- Crown Club mentoring program for high school girls
- Teacher mini-grants
- Graduating senior college scholarships
